Compliance Audit System

COMPAS™ – UI Tax Audit

COMPAS is the only Unemployment Insurance (UI) Tax Audit software application designed specifically to complete and manage the UI Tax audit process.

Audit teams using COMPAS work with tools built to produce high quality audits that pass USDOL Tax Performance System (TPS) Quality Reviews. They also gain a mature, proven solution that manages and tracks the entire UI Tax audit process and can be used to complete non-audit investigations as well.

COMPAS is a configurable off-the-shelf Windows® Desktop application built on the .NET framework, with a SQL Server database as its central repository. MTW configures COMPAS to meet the specific needs of your state agency.

Fast Facts

COMPAS UI Tax Audit at a glance

Fast Fact

Large multi-year UI system modernization projects can achieve early implementation success and an immediate return on investment by integrating COMPAS with the legacy UI Tax system, then carrying it forward as part of the new system when it goes live.

HOW IT ALL BEGAN

Built with auditors, for auditors

COMPAS started in 2009 as a ground-up collaboration between MTW developers and two Unemployment Insurance Tax audit professionals. The goal was a modern software tool that helps UI Tax auditors consistently perform quality audits that pass USDOL Tax Performance System (TPS) Quality Reviews. The team worked together for more than a year to create a system that is easy to use, saves time, and improves consistency for experienced and novice auditors alike.

Throughout the audit process, auditors receive continuous feedback on their progress toward the steps required to meet USDOL TPS and best practice standards for quality audits.
