Grant Administrators design the forms that are published as online grant applications. They can reuse and modify existing applications or build a complete application from start to finish, using design features that define how data is collected and how individual pages function. The design process is fast and efficient, and grants can be brought online quickly with minimal assistance from technical staff.
Documents and controls applicant grant award amounts, including proper apportioning for grant programs that use a formula-driven allocation process. This data controls the budgeting and payment processes. Funds can be monitored and transferred between allocations, programs, or consortium applicants, and across fiscal years when carryover provisions exist within a grant program.
Grantees sign in securely from any web browser, save work in progress, and return later to complete and submit. The GMS guides them through the application, pre-populating fields where possible and displaying only the sections that require grantee completion, with document upload, spell check, and online help available throughout. The result is less data entry, fewer errors, and higher quality applications, allowing reviewers to focus on programmatic content instead of math errors or completeness checks.
Routes applications through submission, approval, and optional scoring, and returns applications to the grantee for changes or corrections when required. No routes or route stops are predefined: each application can be set up with as few or as many parallel or serial steps as needed. Grantees receive email notifications about the status of their application throughout the review process.
A web-based tool for entering and maintaining system user data and controlling security access to specific functions and components within GMS, for a single user or a group of users. It integrates with Workflow Administration to provide flexibility in assigning reviewers to their tasks.
Grant Administrators and fiscal or business managers set up and monitor scheduled payments, reimbursements, or both, and manage the interface between the GMS and a state or agency disbursement system. Agency staff can access system reports with common reporting software or use the GMS Data Warehouse to build ad hoc reports on grant application or payments data.
